Details  1. All registered Boxers and Power Lifters of Sikkim Boxing Association and Sikkim Power Lifting Association since past 1 year.
2. All MMA athletes who have competed in at
least one event in past 1 year.
3. Both genders with age group of (18-30 years).
 
 
ExclusionCriteria 
Details  1.Participant who has not trained for more than 1 month.
2. Any history of musculoskeletal injury or surgery less than 6 months old.

Study Title: Relationship Between Grip Strength and Lower Limb Explosive Strength Among Boxers, Mixed Martial Arts Athletes, and Power Lifters :A Cross-Sectional Study

Dear Participant,

We invite you to participate in our study on the Relationship Between Grip Strength and Lower Limb Explosive Strength Among Boxers, Mixed Martial Arts Athletes, and Power Lifters". Before we begin, we need your consent to collect information from you. Please review the following information carefully.

Participation Details:

Voluntary Participation: Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may choose to withdraw at any time without affecting your physical performance.

Confidentiality: Your personal information will be kept confidential and only used for this study.

Purpose of the Study: The aim of this study is to explore how grip strength relates to lower limb explosive strength among boxers, mixed martial arts athletes, and power lifters.

What to Expect During the Study:

  1. Grip Strength Measurement: We will assess your grip strength using the SAEHAN hand grip dynamometer. You will sit comfortably with your arm supported and squeeze the dynamometer as hard as possible for 5-6 seconds. This will be repeated three times with short rests in between. The dynamometer measures the force in kilograms, and the average of these attempts will be recorded.

  2. Vertical Jump Measurement: We will measure your vertical jump height using a Modified Vertical Jump Board. You will stand sideways facing a board attached to a wall and use chalk to mark your highest jump. This process will be repeated three times, and the average height of these jumps will be calculated.

  3. Additional Assessments: We will also conduct several secondary assessments including body fat distribution through Waist-to-Hip Ratio and Waist-to-Height Ratio, muscle size and distribution through Girth Measurements, reaction time assessments, and Bioelectric Impedance Analysis for detailed body composition. These tests will give a comprehensive view of your physical fitness and help in developing tailored training interventions.

Risks: Minimal risks such as fatigue and mild discomfort are involved. Safety measures will be in place to address any potential issues.

Benefits: While there are no direct benefits to you, the results will contribute to optimizing strategies for injury prevention and performance enhancement.

Compensation: No financial compensation will be provided for your participation.

Confidentiality: All personal details will be anonymized upon completion of the study to ensure confidentiality. Participants who do not comply with study protocols may be excluded.

Right to Withdraw: You may withdraw from the study at any time without any questions or consequences.

Note: During the grip strength and vertical jump assessments, our assessors ensured the safety and well-being. In case of any injury, immediate medical assistance will be provided, and financial support will be available for any related expenses.

Outcome Measures: All measurements was taken in the early morning.
