Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Comparator Agent  Conventional group  The participants in this group will undergo 20 min of lower limb training to affected side only daily, 5 days per week for 6 weeks. It will be performed by a physiotherapist. It will comprise the Motor Relearning Programme and PNF, which includes task specific training and multiplanar movements of affected lower extremity and upper extremity.
Intervention  Strength training group  The participants in this group will receive bilateral lower limb training which would include the task-oriented approach i.e., Motor Relearning Programme and PNF for the affected side and strengthening of the less affected side. The participants in this group will undergo 20 min of lower limb training and upper limb to affected side only and 20 min of strength training to the less affected side for 5 days per week for 6 weeks provided by a physiotherapist.

Brief Summary

Current rehabilitation strategies predominantly emphasize unilateral training to restore motor function in the affected limb. However, this approach may inadvertently neglect the unaffected limb, which can lead to muscle atrophy, decreased motor control, and reduced functional capacity. The consequent motor deprivation in the unaffected limb not only compromises overall motor symmetry but also impedes the patient’s ability to engage in activities of daily living.
