Brief Summary
Doshas are biological forces which work through the medium of Dhatus & Mala Dha in Sanskrit means to build. So, Dhatu, in Ayurveda, means the building element of the body. The word dhatu is derived from the word, ’Dhru dharyati’ which means to support and to nourish
According to acharya Charaka the human body is primarily made of seven tissues or saptadhatus. Saptadhatu in ayurveda are the seven body tissues. The dhatus are the structural components. They also maintain the functioning of different organ systems and play a significant role in nourishment and growth of the body as well as the mind.In Ayurveda Sara Pariksha is one among the ten types of methods to examine a patient, stated as Dashavidha Aatura Pariksha. Sara pariksha primarily determines the strength and quality of a Dhatu Acharya Chakrapani has described sara as Vishudhataro Dhatu’ which means the purest forms of Dhatu Panduta is one of the lakshana described by Chark acharya in Ras Pradoshaj vikara As according to Charak Acharya Ras dhatu is responsible for the formation of Rakta dhatu by Dhatuposhan Nyay Siddhant
So here an attempt has been made to study Rasa Dhatu status in terms of Sarata with special reference to Haemoglobin percentag
