Brief Summary
|
Study Title is Occupation-Specific Visual Outcomes and Quality of Life Post Cataract Surgery in a Community Setting. Introduction This study focuses on the impact of community-based cataract surgery on visual outcomes and quality of life, particularly how these factors vary across different occupations. Cataract surgery is the most common surgical procedure globally, yet in underserved rural areas, outcomes can be suboptimal, affecting both visual function and quality of life. the Aim is To evaluate how cataract surgery performed in a community setting influences patients quality of life based on occupational demands. Objectives are to Assess post-operative quality of life across different occupations using a quality of life questionnaire and Compare pre and post-surgery visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and color vision. the study Design is Cross-sectional study with a sample size of 385 participants, conducted over 12 months at Sankara Hospital in Ludhiana. Visual function will be assessed using tools like the Snellen Chart, Ishihara color vision chart, and contrast sensitivity chart. Collected data will be analyzed with normative statistical tests in MS Excel.
