Brief Summary
|
Decreased Achilles
tendon length can limit dorsiflexion range of motion, potentially leading to
issues like midfoot and forefoot pathologies, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, and
altered gait.
Existing
literature shows that Achilles tendon length and ankle dorsiflexion range of
motion improve immediately after inclined treadmill walking, which may help
prevent or alleviate musculoskeletal problems. Diagnostic ultrasound is an
effective imaging technique for evaluating tendons.
However, to the best
of our knowledge, no study has checked the short-term effect of inclined
treadmill walking on Achilles tendon length and ankle dorsiflexion range of
motion.
Patients will be
selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. They will be divided into 2
groups with the help of randomization software. One group will do inclined
treadmill walking and the other group will do treadmill walking on level
condition for 10 minutes for 3 sessions for the time period of 3 weeks.
The outcome
measurements will be done by Diagnostic ultrasound for Achilles tendon length
and universal goniometer for ankle dorsiflexion range of motion. Variations in
pre- and post- outcome measures will help us to find out the effect of inclined
treadmill walking on Achilles tendon length.
