Brief Summary
|
Despite playing various roles in medicine eg clinician, teacher, researcher, critical care specialist, still the general population is not fully aware regarding their contribution to the medical sciences. So we propose this study to quantify anaesthesia and anesthesiologists’ awareness and compare the data collected at grass root level at CHC and that at hospital. Novelty:The previous studies have extrapolated data from the patients coming to the hospital for surgical treatment. In our study, we will study the population at rural level of CHC coming for any medical ailment even non surgical. We will study the data from general population (patients’ relatives) even those who are not posted for surgery. Objectives: Primary objective: To assess the awareness about anaesthesia and anesthesiologists in urban and rural population Methods: The patients and relatives coming to the hospital settings (PHC, College) will be given a questionnaire in their local language (English,Punjabi). They will be given as much time as required. If any help is needed, an assistant will be provided to read the questionnaire. The survey shall be administered verbally to participants and/or patient relatives who are illiterate and their verbal responses will be recorded. The questionnaire will have 6 domains targeting various areas |
