Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Intervention  Manual Diaphragm Release Technique  The subject will be made to lie supine in comfortable position. Knees will be bent and hands on the side. The therapist will be standing above the head side of bed. The hands of the therapist will be slightly lateral to the xiphisternum, clasping the lower ribs by holding the lower edge with the tip of the fingers curved and carefully introducing fingers under the costal margins. The subject will be asked to breathe in and while exhaling, the pressure of clasping will be increased maintaining it through next exhalation and increasing it further, maintaining a cephalic traction. This will be done for twice a week for 4 weeks.
Comparator Agent  Non smokers  The subject will be made to lie supine in comfortable position. Brief Summary   Pilot study will be done with random sampling method. 52 healthy subjects assigned equally in 2 groups 26 in each group. Primary outcome measure will be Transversus Abdominis recruitment using Deep Muscle Contraction Scale,Pressure Biofeedback unit and Chest Expansion. Group A of smokers will receive Manual Diaphragm Release Technique as 6 sittings. Group B of non smokers will receive Manual Diaphragm Release Technique as 6 sittings. After 2 weeks, TRANSVERSUS Abdominis muscle activation and Thoracic expansion will be checked.
