Brief Summary

This is a study on the issues faced by the Anesthesia Faculty while guiding students conduct their thesis.
Research plays a very important role in a student’s education. Research is nothing but an in depth study of materials and deducing facts. It is important for students because it not only helps in learning but also in decision making. Therefore, it increases self confidence, making them better doctors.
Teachers help in laying a strong foundation of the research methodology for students. They can have an impact on students’ perspective of research. They make sure that the research follows basic manners of originality & honesty. Teaching students the correct way  to conduct research is a big responsibility for the research supervisors.
Supervisors handle not only work but also have an individual life. Anesthesia as a specialty can be exhausting due to the vigilance required while handling patients and the long working hours. The emotional exhaustion seen in the Anesthesia program directors is higher than other medical specialties. The stress that comes with research is an additional burden for the faculty. There is enough study describing the stresses faced by the students while conducting research. It is essential to understand if the Anesthesiology faculty is able to handle this additional burden. Through this survey we plan to reach out nationwide faculty willing to participate and understand their concerns and suggestions to improve student and anesthesia guide relationship
