control group I |
control group I has been given a blank white paper diary and written followed by observing/experiencing selected sign and symptoms related to auditory hallucination, delusion, suicidal ideation and aggression for 5 days and after which shares their experience in a group about their experience with unformatted diary or blank white paper diary. further on teaching session was given about sign / symptoms learned by paper writing and experience to another group of students i.e. learning group III. later on Learning group III assess their teacher for experiential learning skills learned by writing a paper. (control group I). |
Comparator Agent |
Experimental group-II |
experimental group-I write a formatted Reflection Diary by observing/experiencing selected sign and symptoms related to auditory hallucination, delusion, suicidal ideation and aggression for 5 days and after which shares their experience in a group about reflection practice. further on teaching/ providing a real tranning about those sign / symptoms learned by reflective practice to another group of students i.e. learning group III. later on Learning group III assess their teacher (Experimental group) for development of experiential learning skills. . |
Comparator Agent |
Learning Group III |
Learning group has been introduced in study after complition of both groups (Group I with reflection diary & Group II without reflection diary). By which both the groups teaches their real experience about patient sign/symptoms to the learning groups III And learning groups III assess both the groups and finding outs the effect of reflection diary in development of experiential learning skills. |

Brief Summary
|
A diary of Reflection is a
flexible alternative approach to the psychiatric nursing students. Students
keep a personal diary in which they reflect and write about their experience
with mentally ill patient by interacting and observing behavioral outcome of
patients etc . which develops experiential learning skills in psychiatric
nurses. Reflection diary
will helps to develop critical thinking, self-awareness and analytical skills.
Reflection diary can help student nurses to inform about what worked or didn’t
work, what might need to be done differently, or how individuals may need to
develop their behavior or practice. Sometime psychiatric nursing students does not like to interact with
mentally ill patient because of certain abnormal behavior and symptom presents
like aggression, abusiveness, irritable, anxious etc. Reflection diary will
motivate and initiate them to interact with mentally ill patients comfortably
in any circumstances and student nurses will gain interest to use it. Reflection diary will help the psychiatric nursing students to
reflect on their experience in much effective way. Experiential learning skills
will develop place by regular practice on reflection diary, which will develop
a stable learning. |
