Brief Summary

Effectiveness of Muscle Energy Technique Vs Positional Release Technique in the management of Piriformis Syndrome

ABSTRACT

The term Piriformis Syndrome  defined as an entrapment neuropathy involving compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve due to piriformis muscle spasm or other inflammatory process of the muscle . The prevalence of Piriformis syndrome ranged from 12.2% to 27%. The muscle energy technique and the positional release technique are effective in the management of piriformis syndrome.

AIM

Aim of this study is to compare the effect of muscle energy technique vs positional release technique in the management of piriformis syndrome.

OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the effect of muscle energy technique in the management of piriformis syndrome.

To evaluate the effect of positional release technique in the management of piriformis syndrome

To compare the effectiveness of muscle energy technique and positional release technique in the management of piriformis syndrome

METHODOLOGY

ï‚·GROUP A : Receive post isometric relaxation of MET  for 10 mins ( 3 repetition)

ï‚·   GROUP B: Receive positional release technique for 10 mins (3 repetition)

3 sessions/week for 2 week, Total duration of 30 minutes for each group

RESULTS

statistical analysis will be done after data collection and conclusion will be drawn
