Details  1 Teeth indicated for extraction and which cannot be restored.
2 Teeth with healthy periodontal status with no gingival inflammation or bone loss.
3 Adequate palatal/lingual and apical bone for implant placement.
4 Favorable occlusal scheme for immediate provisional and definitive restoration.
5 For multirooted teeth, having large interradicular bone.
6 All patients included in the study should have one missing posterior tooth, with adjacent or contralateral sound natural teeth without any carious lesions, trauma or wasting disease.
7 Patients who are willing to involve in the study.

 
 
ExclusionCriteria 
Details  1 Mobile teeth.
2 Teeth with thin or absence of labial and palatal bone.
3 Teeth with larger periapical infection or any active lesion.
4 Vertical root fracture.
5 Internal resorption.
6 Patients having habit of smoking and chewing tobacco.
7 Patients having systemic diseases like uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension and bleeding disorders.
8 Patients who are not physically fit for the treatment as consulted by the physician.
9 Pregnant woman and lactating mothers.
10 Patients who have undergone radiation therapy.
11 Patients with parafunctional habits, restored adjacent or contralateral tooth, or acute infection at the implant region.
12 Patients who are not willing to involve in the

Brief Summary   The purpose of the study is to rehabilitate the petients tooth with dental implants and maintain periimplant bone and soft tissue.  Participants will be selected based on the patients dental health and will be treated with one of the two techniques that is either socket shield technique or immediate implant placement technique depending upon the retained dental root which is previously indicated for extraction.
