Type  Name  Details
Comparator Agent  Core stabilization exercises   Core stabilization exercises divided into 2 phases. In phase 1 the exercises will be done seated on a stable surface it include, flexion and extension of the lumbar spine, lateral trunk flexion, upper trunk rotation, lower trunk rotation, forward reach in three directions. Progress to the next phase upon 30-second stability on a physioball. In phase 2 the same exercises will be given on a physioball. Core stability exercises will be given once in a day, 5 days per week for 4 weeks for 20 minutes
Intervention  Trunk PNF exercises   The Trunk PNF exercises include,Stabilizing Reversals, Rhythmic Stabilization techniques in chopping and lifting pattern. In trunk PNF exercises will be give once in a day,5 days per week for 4 weeks for 20 minutes duration.

Brief Summary
This randomized clinical trial aims to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of Trunk Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) exercises versus Core Stability exercises in improving trunk control, balance, and mobility among stroke patients aged 45-65. Conducted from March 2024 to July 2025, the study involves participants who are first-time stroke survivors capable of sitting unsupported for at least 20 minutes and walking a minimum of 6 meters with or without assistance. Participants, recruited through purposive sampling at Neurorehabilitation OPD and Srinivas Medical College Hospital in Mangalore, will undergo conventional physiotherapy along with specific interventions: Group A receives Trunk PNF Exercises for 20 minutes daily, 5 days a week, while Group B performs Core Stability Exercises under the same regimen. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will utilize the Trunk Impairment Scale version 2.0 (TIS 2.0), Modified Functional Reach Test (MFRT), and Time Up and Go test (TUG) to measure outcomes. This study aims to provide evidence-based insights into optimizing rehabilitation strategies for enhancing functional independence in stroke patients.
