Brief Summary
|
A sitting lifestyle is becoming the most common cause of health problems in the 21st century. Working in sitting posture causes musculoskeletal disorders which are classified under work-related musculoskeletal; disorders which are related to muscles, skeleton and related tissues. Having a prolonged sitting posture during work causes changes in the muscular activity and its activation patterns and a reduction in the core muscle endurance. Sitting posture causes tightness of the muscle, reduced joint range of motion and flexibility which affects the activities of daily living. Flexibility is the ability to move a joint through complete ROM, it becomes a component of health and physical fitness. Earlier studies have shown the association between upper segment and sedentary job which is the topmost priority for evaluation. Therefore, the aim of the study is to find the correlation of core endurance with lower extremity endurance and flexibility in sedentary jobs. A total of 47 participants will be recruited on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Informed consent will be taken and if they agree to participate in this study, they will be included in the study. A one-time assessment of 15-20 minutes will be performed. They will be asked about your demographic data (name, age, etc.) Then the participant will be asked to perform 30 sec chair sit to stand test without using the arms and the number of sit ups will be measured. In V sit and reach test the participant is asked to reach the maximum distance in the long sitting position and should be held for 2 sec at least. In plank hold test the patient is explained the position and is asked to hold it as long as they can. The data will be collected and will be correlated using Spearman’s or Pearsons test.
