Intervention / Comparator Agent
Type  Name  Details
Comparator Agent  Conventional Gingivectomy  Bleeding points will be marked on the external surface of the gingiva corresponding to the depth of the pseudopockets, at mesiobuccal, midbuccal and distobuccal surfaces using a pocket marker. The external bevel incision (continuous or discontinuous) will be placed apical to the marked bleeding points at approximately 45 degrees to the long axis of the tooth surface. The gingival tissue will be excised, so as to re-create the normal festooned pattern of the gingiva.
Intervention  Low Level Laser Therapy  The test sites will be irradiated with a diode laser using 1.00W output power, wavelength 810 nm (visible emission), continuous wave, and beam diameter of 2 mm and irradiation will be made in non-contact mode, scanning an area of about 1cm2 for 10 sec while holding the delivery tip perpendicular to the tissue surface.

Brief Summary

This study compares the efficacy of low level laser therapy for acceleration of healing post gingivectomy in patients.the sample size of 27 sites for cases and control each are taken.gingival enlargement is one of the frequent features of gingival diseases. However due to their varied presentations, the diagnosis of these entities becomes challenging for the clinician. They can be categorized based on their etiopathogenesis, location, size, extent, etc. A perfect diagnosis is critically important, since the management of these lesions and prevention of their recurrence is completely dependent on it. The follow up of patient at baseline 1 week 2 week 1month and 3 months is done
