Brief Summary
|
Bronchial asthma is an important public health problem at the global level. It is a chronic reversible inflammatory destructive disease of the airways characterized by recurrent paroxysmal attacks of dyspnea chiefly expiratory in nature accompanied by wheeze which may subside spontaneously or with treatment. There are complex and confounding associations and relationships with infections and infestations, air pollution, tobacco smoking and environmental tobacco smoke exposure. According to a global asthma report among India’s 1.31 billion people, about 6% of children and 2% of adults have asthma. In India, statistical data shows that 0.92%of women and 3.04% of men were suffering from asthma.
Thus, in Siddha system of Medicine, there are unique combination of medicines, which have solution to the present scenario of Bronchial asthma. One such combination is SANGKAARA VAIRAVAN which will be cost effective and reliable. The method of preparation of the medicine is easy and the raw drugs are also easily available.
The aim of the study is the management of SWASAKASAM (BRONCHIAL ASTHAMA) with siddha medicine SANGKAARA VAIRAVAN and the objective is to determine the therapeutic efficacy and safety profile of the siddha medicine SANGKAARA VAIRAVAN in the management of SWASAKASAM (BRONCHIAL ASTHAMA). As the literary evidences support the usage of medicine, in the disease, hypothesis is created such a way that the efficacy of SANGKAARA VAIRAVAN will be a better solution for SWASAKASAM (BRONCHIAL ASTHAMA). |
