Brief Summary

Respiratory distress is most common in premature infants and a leading cause of respiratory failure and neonatal death due to the morphological and functional immaturity of lungs. This study is to compare the accuracy of lung ultrasound and chest x-ray in diagnosing respiratory distress. Timely detection of respiratory distress and early intervention is of utmost importance to prevent long term disability. It is plausible that early detection of respiratory distress in neonates can prevent neonatal mortality.
