Participants in this group will be made to listen music of their own preference in the preoperative room for 7 minute. |

1. Patient of either sex,age 18-60years.
2. Patients belonging to American Society of Anaestheiologists Grade 1 and 2.
3. Patients undergoing elective surgery of duration 2-3 hours. |

1. Patients who are on anti anxiety or anti depressants or beta blockers.
2. Obstetric patients.
3. Patients suffering with visual or hearing impairment.
4. Patients suffering from intellectual disability or any other psychiatric illness. |

Brief Summary
|
We will be comparing the effect of preoperative multimedia based informative video versus music intervention in patients undergoing elective surgery under spinal anaesthesia in Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi. A total of 140 patients with 70 on each group ( group V and group M) will be enrolled in the study. Patients will be explained about the study and written informed consent will be taken. Group V participants will be shown informative video regarding Spina anaesthesia and groupM participants will receive music intervention of their own preference. Anxiety level will be assessed using visual analogue scale - anxiety (VAS-A) , serum cortisol level ( baseline and 6 hours after completion of surgery ), Post operative satisfaction score using Likert scale. |
