| Comparator Agent |
Individualized homoeopathic medicine |
According to the homoeopathic principles individualized medicine to be selection after complete case taking and administered in patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus and will compare its efficacy in comparison with vanadium metallicum |
| Intervention |
vanadium 12c |
Antioxidants are well recognized for lowering radioactive oxygen species (ROS) induced oxidative stress, which contributes to the onset of diabetes and its associated complications. Vanadium metal complexes aid in the reduction of serum glucose levels in animals by mimicking insulin. They function as inhibitors of PTP-1B (protein tyrosine phosphatase) enzyme overexpression. Vanadium is an oxygen carrier and a catalyzer, hence its use in wasting diseases. Numerous studies confirm its effectiveness of vanadium in treating diabetes but no study have explored its anti-diabetic effects in homoeopathy so i am doing this study on patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus in 12 centesimal potency for 6 months |

Brief Summary
Modification(s)
|
Many studies have shown that free radicals are elevated in diabetes mellitus which further complicate the case so vanadium is an antioxidant metal and many studies shows that it has insulin mimicking properties thus helpful in diabetes but no study paper available in homoeopathy that proves its efficacy so ill screen patients of diabetes mellitus type ii in age group of 30-70 years with fasting blood sugar 150-200mg/dL or HbA1c 6.5-8% with no other complication of diabetes or any other comorbidities for one intervention group 40 patients i’ll give vanadium 12c and other 40 patient will take individualized homoeopthic treatment those who are attending NIH OPD & IPD kolkata. study period will be 18 months and intervention period will be 6 months. After study i’ll compare the change in FBS in both vanadium and individualised homoeopathic medicine efficacy. patient will be enrolled after informed consent only available in hindi english and bengoli languages . if any negative outcomes appears for detoriation of health condition of patients then study will be stopped and necessary measures for the betterment of patient will be taken . |
