Brief Summary
|
Tonsillitis is the term used for inflammation of the tonsils, two oval shaped pads of tissue at the back of the throat-one tonsil on each side. Palatine tonsils are tissue situated in lateral wall of oropharynx between anterior and posterior pillars. Tonsillitis or inflammation of tonsils is common disease and makes approximately 1.3% of outpatient visits. It is 3rd infectious ENT pathology after rhinopharynigitis and otitis. Tonsillitis is condition that is commonly encountered in primary care and is the significant economic burden, with 35,000,000 days lost from work or school. There are about 75,55,494 insatances of tonsillitis in India each year. The mainstay of treatment of acute tonsillitis is supportive care, including analgesia and hydration. Medications such as NSAIDS can provide symptomatic relief and patient rarely requires hospitalization. Treatment may be surgical including tonsillectomy or tonisllotomy. Around 2,00,000 tonsillectomies are acted in India per year. Homoeopathy depends on Nature’s Law “Similia Similibus Curantur†which means let likes be treated by likes. Tonsillitis can be cured with help of Homoeopathic Medicines with permanent restoration of health. In many sever cases of recureent and chronic tonsillitis where tonsillectomy is advised, Homoeopathic medicines play a great role and surgical intervention can be avoided. For this study, I intend to select Homoeopathic Medicines on basis of Homoeopathic Medical Repertory by Dr. Robin Murphy in cases of Tonsillitis. Homoeopathic Medical Repertory by Dr. Robin Murphy is a modern alphabetical repertory which represents the experimental and therapeutic database for the practice of Homoeopathic Medicine. |
